Traffic entering from stop-controlled driveway had trouble making left turn as they had to proceed 60 feet to reach the safety of centerline without knowing if approaching vehicle on their left was going to enter the driveway or curve left in front of them. Now about 50% of driveway exits cheat across the central island, but it works just fine. After six years with no raised islands, a central island was built on 3 Nov 2020: 20 feet in diameter, 4 inches high, designed for asphalt but built with PCC.
